Internship Update

My perception of this internship has progressed gradually. In the beginning, I had presumption I would be completing busy work but then completing the super-bills and calling the patients efficiently had shown my mentor it is time for me to move on to the next stage. Now, I have the privilege to observe my mentor interacting with her patients and adapt techniques and learn medical terminology. I am gaining insight regarding new information I have never read or learnt about. Every week is a new story. I think the most interesting part of my internship is being able to interact with patients and learn at the same time. I have learnt it is imperative to maintain a healthy and proper relationship with the patients. The most interesting aspect of my internship is that my mentor and I get to create diagnosis after visiting each which is almost like solving a puzzle, because you are putting pieces of information together in order to solve the puzzle. I feel like I can be improve my performance by asking my mentor several questions regarding topics I am curious about to show I am willing to learn as much as I can with this great opportunity I have received. Asking questions shows my mentor that I am willing to learn more and gain more insight. I also think asking my mentor "what ways do you I think I can improve?" periodically will improve my performance because it shows my mentor I am dedicated to improving my performance and be resourceful to the best of my ability. Overall, I am gaining beneficial knowledge about the field I choose to pursue and and hopeful for the experiences I gain throughout this journey.
